Zero to Married in Three Months

Everyone, I would like to introduce you to my husband- Shaun David. Yep, that handsome man right there married me last week. ME! It's crazy to me that this man is crazy about me. It all happened really fast. At the beginning of November, I swiped right on Shaun's picture. We started talking, and after a week of texting we met up at Heritage Pizza. I got there first and sat at the bar. When he walked it, my heart fluttered and I thought to myself there is no way this guy will be interested in me, he is WAY out of my league. We sat there talking until the place closed down, and then he walked me to my car. When we go to my car, I could tell he wasn't going to kiss me. There was no way I was going to let such an opportunity pass, so I straight up said "Are you going to kiss me?" He laughed and leaned in. Later, he told me that after that kiss, he knew he was all in. 100%, whatever it took, all in. Three days after our first date, he took me out to dinner again. This is a picture from that date:

A couple of weeks later, on December 2nd, he asked me if I would be his girlfriend, and we talked about everything and I knew I was all in too. A few days later we went to a Stars game and had just the best time. I laugh with him like I haven't laughed in a long time.

December 13 I ordered the dress I wanted to wear when I married him. January 2nd we took the kids to breakfast and then to get our marriage license. There were so many reasons I knew that he was the one for ever and ever. I've had some health scares and he has been my rock through it all. He wasn't scared to meet my family on Thanksgiving day and was so excited to introduce me to his. He texts with my mom and loves to run around after my kids. He takes all the broken pieces of my heart that others have left behind and speaks truth and healing into them. On January 26 he took me back to Heritage Pizza. He parked in the same spot we had parked at on our first date, and stood there in the parking lot where we had our first kiss. He told me how much he loved me, how he didn't to waste any more time in this life without me. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

So on February 1st we made it official. There wasn't any music, there weren't any chairs, there wasn't any practicing or a photographer. Just our immediate family standing in a semi circle around us as we spoke vows to each other that we wrote ourselves at a park while the sun set, carrying a bouquet of flowers my teammate made me at school earlier. (Yep, we both went to work that day!)

He is my best friend, and I am so honored to do life with him. He literally could have picked anyone else, yet he chose me. He loves me so well and has my back in everything, whether I'm being rational or not. It's pretty great actually. ;) We laugh a ton and have cried our fair share of tears. We sit in silence or can talk about anything. We go out on the town or we sit under a blanket on the couch in our sweats. Home is better when I'm leaning against him.
