Game and Wedding

So, today  was Luke's first soccer game.  I don't think I have laughed that hard in a very very long time.  Ya'll, I was crying.  It seems as though my child was the entertainment for the entire crowd.  And not on purpose.  It started out good.

We took a quick picture before he headed out to warm up, which he did willingly.  He was looking good out there, running and kicking and staying with the kids.

But then the game started.  All of the sudden he wanted nothing to do with anything.  It was the initial kick off for the game and the ball skimmed right by him, yet all he could do was stand there and watch it.  Every. Single. Kid ran by him to get the ball and there he stood.  The other team scored a goal and he still hadn't moved.  All the while I'm on the side lines screaming "MOVE IT SON!  GET THE BALL!  STAY WITH THE KIDS!"

My shouts went unheeded.  He stood there.  He wandered in the opposite direction.  He sat down the middle of the field with his arms crossed.  He stood around with his eyes shut.  Once again I was reminded of what a stubborn boy I've got, and no amount of praise/encouragement/shouting/bribing can make him do what he doesn't want to do.  Gotta love him.

After the game Dad took him home so that he could eat a quick lunch and take a nap while Mom, Evan and I went to a wedding.  My friend Sara, whom I've known since middle school, married my other friend Clint, whom I've known for even longer (and was actually in my wedding) today in such a sweet ceremony.  It was Evan's first wedding to attend, and I just LOVE the dress that she wore!

It's one of my new favorite's of hers.  I was even lucky enough to get a quick picture with the bride.

Wasn't she beautiful?!

We didn't get home until 5, and as soon as I walked in the door I got to cleaning.  I hadn't done anything all week and things had just fallen apart.  I couldn't handle it anymore.  So I cleaned for 3 hours straight and finally have everything right again.  I will sleep GOOD tonight.  Please tell me I'm not the only one who sleeps better in a clean house!
