Starts grim but ends sweet

Wearing a robe, standing over a hot iron with a baby strapped to my side was how I started my day.  Not what you thought this fabulous, high fashion, sophisticated woman would be doing, eh?  hahaha.  Just kidding.  I'm not really high fashion.  Anyway, the perk to all of this was Luke slept in until 9, which meant Momma got to sleep in until 9.  Yee haw!

I wasn't too thrilled with doing more ironing and two loads of laundry, but I'm the type of person who likes to bite the bullet and get the blec stuff done first, so that I can be able to spend the rest of my day doing just as I please.  So that's what I did.

And lately I've really enjoyed having Luke strapped to my side.  I've gotten more use out of my sling in the last month than I have in the first 16 months that he has been alive.  Maybe I'll get Cody to take a picture of us using the sling one day.  I've strapped him to my side and to my back, and each time I feel so granola that I'm waiting for someone to buy me Birkenstocks.

Please don't buy me Birkenstocks.

Tonight was the Ladies Fellowship Christmas Dinner and Cookie Swap.  That's why I needed to make all of those cookies!  Tada!  Today I sat on the couch (after finishing the ironing and laundry of course) and watch a couple of old episodes of Bones and ate who knows how many meringues.  And now I've got a dozen other cookies to add to that tomorrow.  Plus, have you checked out Lucy's holiday treats? Holy moly.  I just may have to be totally lame this year and have a New Year's resolution to lose weight.  I've made a resolution in the past to NEVER make that resolution.....but this might be the year to break it.  I hear 26 is a perilous time for your metabolism.
